How to Make a Bedroom More Cozy

Cozy, in three easy steps.

When it comes to styling a bedroom there are 3 things that come to mind that truly enhance all of the cozy vibes and you and your wallet will be happy to know it doesn’t involve an entire new bedroom set or mattress.

The first asset to an extra cozy room are Pillows! Layering pillows on your bed is such an easy way to make your bedroom feel more inviting. I like to start with a layer of 18x18 pillows and then layer in complementing textures and colors using smaller proportionate pillows. Most sets come with shams but stacking the layers using these larger pillows really creates the depth and the urge to want to just fall deep into your bed. And if you really want to finish it off, I recommend a textured throw blanket! A bedside bench or basket to store the pillows are also helpful to have when storing pillows while you sleep.

The second piece to a cozy bedroom is a rug. A rug creates not only that cozy feel when your feet hit the ground in the morning, but it also pulls all of the elements in your room together to create a sense of cohesiveness and flow, that leaves your mind feeling more relaxed.

Finally, the most underrated asset to every bedroom is ambient lighting, also known as a lamp! You will be extremely surprised by how your mood changes as you switch on a beside lamp in the evenings as you turn down the lights and close your curtains/blinds in your bedroom. It truly sets the tone for your mind to start slowing down. Lamps are one of my favorite things to shop for, there are so many unique pieces that allow you to make a statement during the day and lull you to sleep in the evenings.
